Rains - God's Gift to Life. It is one of the bliss of Nature to Us. Just think of the magic it brings. Everything becomes so refreshing and clean with the rains. The scorching heat ends up with the rains. Gone is heat and cool breezes blowing with trees dancing. The aroma of the earth with the first showers of the rains is just wonderful. Kids all screaming and running out of their houses to have a rain-bath in the rains. Gone are those childhood days which I remember seeing these kids. With heavy rains schools use to declare a rainy day holiday. Then all day home, playing, having fun, making paper boats and making them sail in the accumulated waters on streets. Even Bollywood is incomplete without the beautiful rain songs. There are a number of beautiful music tracks co-related to rains, but my personal all time favourite rain song is the one sung by Shobha Mudgal – Ab Ke Saawan Aise Barse….
Rains are a blessing to Life by God and Nature rules our Life through the blessing in disguise. In countries like our India , with farming as one of the major occupation, Rains are worshipped. Farmers welcome rains with joy in heart. Every thing around becomes so pleasant, trees look clean, new & green, flowers look more bright & beautiful with drops of waters on them. Nature looks so soothing & refreshing. Rains bring in some memories of past and thoughts of those people/things we have been missing or neglecting. Nature sings with music from winds & pitter-patter of raindrops. A boon to all is to get to see an awesome rainbow. My first poem that I wrote was in class V on a sad moment in rains when I missed to see a rainbow.
With heavy rains, a long drive on less crowed highway / in a remote green areas with ginger–cardamom flavored Tea (Cutting Chai) & onions pakodas with finely chopped green chillies in them & aloo chaat all this feast at a road-side vendor (tapri), with the water drizzles falling over me - is a most wanted moment for me and my soul smiles & heart glows with these unexplainable – exhilarating moments – the moments that I cherish for long. I personally love to be isolated from the routine & the crowd and spend few moments with my own’s self.
A coin always has two sides. So do rains. I am from a small city, so rains are enjoyable but Metro-Cities & poor homeless people have another story to say. Water-logging, disrupted rail & air services, traffic problems, viral diseases all come hand-in-hand with the rains. Floods in our country have become a major concern since last couple of years. Nature has kept few keys with Herself and however advanced we may get, we still can’t control Nature which plays Her role as She decides.
Wishing All a Very Happy Monsoon. I pray for a Flood – free monsoon & no drought in any parts. Let’s all enjoy Rains & beautiful – re-charging Monsoon marvel.
