(The Above One In English Is Just Below This Post)

THE PARADOX OF OUR TIMES

Is that we have taller buildings, but shorter tempers
Wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints
We spend more, but we have less.

We have bigger houses, but smaller families
More conveniences, but less time.
We have more degrees, but less sense
More knowledge, but less judgement
More experts, but more problems
More medicines, but less wellness.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values.
We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often
We have learnt how to make a living, but not a life.
We have added years to life, but not life to years.
We've been all the way to the moon and back
But have trouble crossing the street to meet the new neighbour.
We have conquered outer space, but not inner space.
We've cleaned up the air, but polluted our soul.
We've split the atom, but not our prejudice.
We've higher incomes, but lower morals.
We've become long on quantity but short on quality.

These are the times of tall men, and short character;
Steep profits, and shallow relationships.
These are the times of world peace, but domestic warfare,
More leisure, but less fun; more kinds of food, but less nutrition.

These are the days of two incomes, but more divorces;
Of fancier houses, but broken homes.
It is a time when there is much in the show window, and nothing in the stockroom.

A time when technology can bring this letter to you,

And a time when you can choose,

Either to make a difference .... or just hit, delete.

Daffodils

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed--and gazed--but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

Live Life Kingsize!!

Truly Inspiring........ One day I decided to quit...

Received a Nice story by e-mail.. I thought to share it here....

One day I decided to quit...
I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality... I wanted to quit my life.

I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.

"God", I said. "Can you give me one good reason not to quit?"
His answer surprised me...
"Look around", He said. "Do you see the fern and the bamboo?"
"Yes", I replied.
When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them.
I gave them light. I gave them water.
The fern quickly grew from the earth.
Its brilliant green covered the floor.
Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed.
But I did not quit on the bamboo.
In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful.
And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed.
But I did not quit on the bamboo. He said.
"In the third year, there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not quit. In the fourth year, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. "I would not quit." He said. "Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth.

So Gaya Hai Zamir Aaj har Insaan Ka

Ya Zopadit Majya - By Saint Tukdoji Maharaj

Back To My School Days Again. One More Favorite Marathi Poem from My School Book which I have never Forgotten

Can Gandhivad (Gandhism) Work in Democratic India????

Mahatma Gandhiji – Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (2nd October 1869 to 30th January 1948) - A name that needs no introduction.  Father of Nation - Gandhiji's Ideology has spread all over the world.

To begin with I salute to Gandhiji. It is a wrong attempt on my part to write anything related to the Respectable Personality.

“Nature Can Fulfill Man’s Need But Not Man’s Greed. Even Violence By The Tongue Is Wrong. Follow Total Non-Violence To Beat Violence.” – Mahatama Gandhiji.

Gandhiji’s Six Principles :
1) Satya - Truth
2) Ahimsa - Non-Violence
3) Vegetarianism
4) Brahmacharya – Celibacy
5) Simplicity : Not keeping more than one’s need
6) Faith
7) Swaraj – Freedom

Gandhiji’s most popular philosophy of three monkeys-
1.Speak No Evil            2. See No Evil           3. Listen No Evil

“Hatred can be overcome only by love.” - Mahatma Gandhi

Practicing Gandhism needs the desire to sacrifice and take challenges boldly. Immense patience and tolerance is required to practice Gandhivad. It takes time but it works. Mass Movements can create havocs history has proved this to us. One needs to be self-confident but calm and needs tireless – consistent efforts towards goal. One needs to be self – confident enough to fight the battle alone for which it requires to have surety that you are true and right. I personally don’t believe that we need to give our other cheek when we are slapped on one but we can definitely hold on a non-violent approach & it is not essential to be aggressive with the attacker (Hard to Practice by us with the immense reactive attitude of ours in this stressful lifestyle of ours).

“The moment the slave resolves that he will no longer be a slave, his fetters fall. He frees himself and shows the way to others. Freedom and slavery are mental states.”- Mahatma Gandhi

I unquote, “ It’s just one person who can make that difference. You can’t change things overnight. But that one person who can stand up and make that difference will make a mark and it has proved”, as quoted by Ms. Priya Dutt, MP, Mumbai, after Sanjay Dutt’s role as Munnabhai was successful.

Sagar - By Kusumagraj

This is one my favorite Poem that I Had in my Marathi School Text Book.

Quitting Smoking

I See a Lot of Young Boys Smoking And Heart weeps for them.

Quitting Smoking is never a walk in the park. Having to give up the habit you've grown accustomed to can really be a very painful endeavor. However, with all the negative effects and with no proven beneficial aspect, the act of giving up smoking is the wisest move you can ever do in your life.
Your past failures are not a lesson that you are unable to quit. Instead, view them as part of the normal journey toward becoming a nonsmoker.
